Intellectual Property partner and co-chair of the Reputation Management practice Mark Rosenberg published the article, “What to Do When You or Your Business is Being Defamed on a Review Site” for Forbes. In the article, Mark notes that in the age of social media, an individual’s or company’s good reputation can often be undone – and at lightning speed – by a negative review on an online review site. And while the reviewer’s opinions are protected speech under the First Amendment, false statements of fact are defamatory and not protected.
