Debra Bodian Bernstein is a counsel in Tarter Krinsky & Drogin’s Litigation Department where she handles complex business disputes from inception through trial and appeal, including contract disputes, partnership and shareholder disputes, title insurance claims, landlord-tenant issues, mortgage foreclosures and other real property matters, art restitution, intellectual property litigation, attorney malpractice and defamation. She has been with the firm since 2002. In 2017, she was appointed to a three-year term on the Steering Committee of the Harpur Law Council by the Dean of Harpur College of Arts and Sciences at Binghamton University. She received a B.S. from Binghamton University and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
As a litigator, I really enjoy learning about my clients’ businesses and thinking of creative and practical ways to solve disputes, and advocating on their behalf to obtain the desired results. It never gets boring because each client and each case presents unique issues and challenges.
How would you describe working at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin?
I love what I do, but perhaps most important is the fact that I work with such a friendly, team-oriented and talented group of people at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin. It truly is a collegial atmosphere. When I started with the firm in 2002, we had less than 10 lawyers.
