Laurent Drogin and David Kleinmann to Present Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) CLE Program on the Top Labor and Employment Issues on the Minds of In-House Counsel Today

October 4, 2018

On October 4, Tarter Krinsky & Drogin Labor & Employment Chair Laurent Drogin and partner David Kleinmann will once again co-present a breakfast CLE program for the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) in New York City.

Over the past several years, Tarter Krinsky & Drogin, accompanied by esteemed general counsel guest speakers, has presented several ACC CLE presentations on an array of topics in the labor and employment field. In many of the participant responses, we received detailed feedback on what the attendees "wished” we had covered.

After reviewing all of those response forms, we culled from them both individualized questions and discrete topics that, by definition, have been "front of mind” for corporate counsel. "You Asked, We Answered” is literally that – a program completely focused on what attendees want to know more about. Based on the responses we’ve reviewed, the topics will include:

  • Conducting internal investigations of HR matters
  • Little known and issues unique to "employment at will.”
  • Retaliation issues and NLRA concerns
  • Performance improvement plans
  • Severance agreements
  • Non-solicitation of employees provisions
  • Update to restrictive covenant law in New York
  • Update on wage and hour issues
  • Leaves of absence
  • Religious accommodation
  • Disability accommodation (including pregnancy)
  • Employees who do not return from leave

Laurent and David will be joined on the panel by Jeanette Baiardi, the general counsel at AKF, who will provide the important in-house counsel perspective.
