On January 31, Intellectual Property co-chair Amy Goldsmith and Construction partner Laurie Stanziale will co-present a breakfast CLE program for the National Law Institute that will be held at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin’s office titled, "Whose Line, Drawing and Plan is it Anyway? The Intellectual Property Rights of Owners and Architects in Connection with an Architect’s Design.” During the two-hour program, which will offer 2.0 credits in the Professional Practice category, Amy and Laurie will explore the intersection between copyrights in architectural drawings and ownership of those copyrights. They will address questions such as: What happens if one architect begins the design process but is let go in favor of another architect? What does the standard AIA contract say? How have the courts treated these disputes? Learn more and register.
Amy and Laurie wrote a two-part article series for Law360 on this topic. You can read part 1 here and part 2 here.
