Meet Sean Scuderi

Sean Scuderi, Construction Associate

What do you like most about practicing law?

As a lawyer at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin, I am privileged to interact with fascinating clients across various industries on a daily basis. It is rewarding to navigate our clients through complex legal issues, close major deals, and resolve disputes. TKD has afforded me a wide breadth of opportunities from advising young start-up businesses to assisting established corporations in major transactions and litigations.

Why did you choose Tarter Krinsky & Drogin?

In addition to the accolades of the firm’s construction practice, I was drawn to TKD’s entrepreneurial culture. The firm focuses on grooming its young talent and gives us the tools and resources we need to enhance our skills and grow our practices. The firm’s partners have helped me dramatically expand my practice area expertise and capabilities. Tarter Krinsky & Drogin has also embraced my desire to develop business, and through the firm’s Pipeline Program, I have acquired valuable techniques that have led to many successes.

What do you enjoy most about what you do?
The new construction or renovation of a building is a collaborative process that can turn combative. I have found that understanding the client’s (no matter if it is an owner or a subcontractor) business perspective for any given project is the key to being the client’s best advocate in a negotiation. Every project is different and every negotiation is nuanced – which keeps my work fresh and interesting. I also enjoy taking part in the ever-changing landscape of New York City.

How would you describe working at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin?
Tarter Krinsky & Drogin brings together group of people who are not only very sharp, but who possess a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. We can all benefit and learn from each other. Our clients are better served by the depth and breadth of our collective experiences, and I think we are all better attorneys because of them as well.

Being a lawyer is incredibly exciting, challenging, thought provoking and rewarding. At Tarter, Krinsky & Drogin, I have the opportunity to work on a number of different cases and learn from partners and associates who have worked in all aspects of the legal profession. The most rewarding aspect for me is to be able to nurture my knowledge and my growth under the guidance of my peers, who are invaluable in my development as a young litigator.

What opportunities are offered to you that you value the most?

The ability to work on a variety of cases, in a wide array of industries, at such an early start in my career. I’ve worked on hedge fund, construction, trademark and employment cases, among many others. To be able to experience such a breadth in work is truly invaluable.

An entrepreneurial, growing mid-size firm with a close-knit culture like Tarter Krinsky & Drogin can be just the right kind of change that you may be seeking. Take a look at Construction associate Sean Scuderi’s story.

We have a robust associate mentoring program, which is structured so that each associate is paired with a partner so that they can gain knowledge and insight as they grow to be the firm’s future leaders. The goals of the program are to help our associates develop their careers while fostering self-confidence, legal skills, the ability to market themselves and their practice, develop institutional savvy as well as strengthen their connections within the firm.

We have a limited number of summer legal intern positions for qualified law students each year. Our summer program is a great way to learn about the law and to work in an entrepreneurial, close-knit team environment. At a mid-size firm like Tarter Krinsky & Drogin, you'll never get lost in a Big Law associate class. Every lawyer here matters and makes great contributions from day one. One of our recent summer interns put it best when she described working here, "I have learned more than I have in a classroom in my short time here at the firm." Hear more from our 2018 summer legal interns on why they chose to join Tarter Krinsky & Drogin and what they enjoy most about working here.
